Our Founder and Director

With more than 35 years of industry experience, Stewart Paterson is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected pest management professionals. From his early days assisting his Father with possum relocations throughout Brisbane in the 1980s to leading national operations, product stewardship programs, and industry training initiatives, Stewart has dedicated his career to advancing pest management standards across Australia and internationally.

Today, he brings a unique combination of hands-on field expertise, commercial leadership, technical knowledge, and global industry insight to National Pest Solutions, helping deliver safer, smarter, and more effective pest management solutions for homes, businesses, and government organisations.

Stewart spent more than a decade in senior leadership roles with BASF, where he was responsible for strategic direction, product stewardship, customer engagement, and training across the professional pest management industry. His work included product development, field trials, regulatory initiatives, label extensions, and integrated pest management programs throughout Australia and Asia.
Throughout his career, Stewart has worked closely with government regulators, technical specialists, researchers, and industry stakeholders to deliver practical, science-based pest management solutions. His project experience spans Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, China, India, Europe, and the United States.
As a passionate educator, Stewart has delivered thousands of hours of technical training covering pesticide stewardship, termite inspections, colony management, construction principles, application technologies, customer communication, and environmental responsibility. His expertise has seen him invited to present and train some of the world’s largest pest management organisations.
Having travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, Stewart continually brings global best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative pest management strategies back to Australia, helping ensure National Pest Solutions remains at the forefront of the industry.
