YOUR LOCAL COORAROO PEST CONTROL TEAM
A suburb that has been rebuilding itself for twenty years
Coorparoo sits about 5.7 kilometres south-east of the CBD in Coorparoo Ward, bordered by Camp Hill, Holland Park, Greenslopes, Stones Corner, East Brisbane and Norman Park. It is 5.4 square kilometres and home to 18,132 people, up from 13,243 at the 2001 census.
That growth shows in the housing. At the 2021 census Coorparoo had 3,825 flats or apartments (49.9%) against 3,109 separate houses (40.6%) and 714 townhouses. The old stock is mostly high-set Queenslanders in a plain interwar style, built when the trams arrived. The new stock is apartment buildings clustered around Old Cleveland Road and Coorparoo Junction, including Coorparoo Square at 300 Old Cleveland Road.
This page covers the general pest, rodent and termite work we do inside Coorparoo. We are a South East Queensland business and cover the inner south-east on the same run, so we are across both halves of this suburb.
WHAT WE TREAT IN COOPAROO
General pest control, termite management and food safe work
Constant construction, an old timber housing stock and a fully urbanised creek catchment give Coorparoo a particular pest profile. The full detail of each service lives on our site wide service pages, linked under each card.

General pest control and rodents in Coorparoo
Rodents are the standout here. Coorparoo sits in the Norman Creek catchment, which is fully urbanised, so the waterway is a mix of natural channel, concrete lined channel and piped drainage running under streets and houses. That network is a rodent highway, and it connects the bin areas behind the Old Cleveland Road shops to the roof space of a house three streets away.
The other local driver is demolition and construction. Every time a site is knocked over or excavated, whatever was living in it moves next door. If a neighbouring block has gone under and you have suddenly got mice or rats, that is not a coincidence.

Termite inspections and management in Coorparoo
Most of the older houses are high-set Queenslanders from the tram era, so the primary structure is hardwood standing on stumps. That is good news for inspection because you can usually get under and look at it. The risk sits in what has been added since: built-in ground floors, enclosed laundries, garden beds banked up against stumps, timber decks and retaining walls.
Local fact: Termites and flying ants get mistaken for each other constantly during swarming season. Termites have straight, bead-like antennae, no waist and equal-length wings, whereas ants have elbowed antennae and an obvious pinched waist ([Australian Museum](https://australian.museum/learn/animals/insects/what-are-the-differences-between-ants-and-termites/)). If you are not sure what is on the windowsill, photograph it and send it to us before you sweep it up.

Commercial and food safe pest control in Coorparoo
Coorparoo Junction carries a real commercial load for an inner suburb: a supermarket, a ten-theatre cinema, alfresco dining and health and beauty tenancies at Coorparoo Square, plus the older strip along Old Cleveland Road and toward Stones Corner. Food handling areas need a documented program with records, not a spray and a handshake. We are HACCP certified through Compass Assurance and also work in the schools, childcare and aged care through the suburb.
WHY ACREAGE CHANGES THE TREATMENT
Built for high-set Queenslanders, new towers and constant building work
Coorparoo is a suburb in the middle of changing, and that shapes the job.
Honest caveat: If the neighbouring site is still under construction, we can protect your place but we cannot stop the source. Expect to need a follow-up once the works finish, and we will say so up front rather than pretending one visit fixes it.
THE PRACTICAL SIDE
Working around Cooparoo
Inner-suburb access and constant works make a bit of planning worthwhile.
Local fact: Coorparoo took its present shape from public transport. An electric tram reached Stones Corner in 1902, the line extended to Chatsworth Road in 1914, and a Cleveland Road tramline opened in 1915. Subdivisions followed immediately, and by the mid-1920s most of the old shire was within 600 metres of a tram or train. That is why the housing on those tram routes is so consistent in age and build.

NEARBY SUBURBS WE COVER
Pest control around Cooparoo
Coorparoo sits in our Brisbane inner south-east service area, and we cover the surrounding suburbs on the same run: Camp Hill, Norman Park, East Brisbane, Stones Corner, Greenslopes and Holland Park. They share the Norman Creek catchment and much the same housing history, so what we find in one usually explains what is happening in the next.
COOPAROO PEST CONTROL FAQS
Questions from Coorparoo residents
They knocked down the house next door and now I have rats. Is that connected?
Almost certainly. Demolition and excavation destroy harbourage, and the rodents living there relocate to the nearest safe roof or subfloor. The fix is proofing your place and baiting strategically, and being realistic that pressure stays high until the works finish.
